DIY : Hand painted paper lantern

Hello friends...

Today I am back with my new DIY project . I have had this plain yellow paper lantern in my bedroom since 2 years ; I got bored to see the same plain yellow lamp so decided to work on it and look, my lamp is ready to glow by simply adding warli figures.

It couldn't be a simpler project as there could be chances of tearing and spoiling the paper lantern. But now you can see the result of patient and careful work :)

Wishing you all a happy weekend !

How you feel when you see your name among shortlisted artists list and that too across the states and countries....here I made it too friends.....My artwork got shortlisted for Tiny Art and Film exhibition in Detroit(MI), USA.

"The King", has won hearts of jury members and guests of "Small Wonders" Tiny art & Film exhibition at Detroit (MI), USA.

Main challenge for this exhibit was artists had to submit tiny artwork with less than 5 inch of size and honestly, it was a really a tough task to paint on such a small piece with accuracy.

But My King made it! A bid adieu to The King!!!

Friends, I hope my King will also win your hearts too! :)

Tarpa Warli paintings

Hello Friends,

You all must have seen TARPA dance in most of the warli paintings ;today i am going to share brief information on TARPA.

One of the central striking aspect of many warli painting is the "Tarpa dance"- the tarpa, a trumpet like instrument, made from bamboo and seeds of pumpkins and the holes are made so that different notes can be played somewhat like a pipe flute.

Tarpa Instrument

Men and women entwine their hands and move in a circle around the tarpa player. The dancers follow the tarpa player, turning and moving as he turns, never turning their back to the Tarpa. The circle formation of the dancers is also said to be a resemble the circle of life.

Traditional Tarpa Dance by Warli people

This Tarpa dance is the most popular motif of warli paintings and it shows the beat, rhythm and dance are beautifully captured in warli paintings.

And at the last my painting based on Tarpa dance

Warli on Wall

If you ask me, as a warli artist, which is your most challenging artwork then definitely it is a wall painting. Guys, seriously it requires a lot of patience and hard work if painting is large and if there is "Tarpa" dance to be drawn then just count the number of hours!!! You can really feel the pain...

Here are the few such wall arts!

Dimensions : 9 x 2 sqft

Good Night People!
I will be back with new artwork soon!
