Madhubani Sun Wall Art

Here comes another Indian folk art…"Madhubani" or "Mithila"!

Madhubani painting or Mithila painting is a style of Hindu Painting, practiced in the Mithila region of Nepal and in Indian States of BiharPainting is done with fingers, twigs, brushes, nib-pens, and matchsticks, using natural dyes and pigments, and is characterized by eye-catching geometrical patterns. Their themes were mainly religious, and they depicted Gods and Goddesses in their paintings.Like Warli art, nowadays Madhubani has become a globalized art form, and difference in styles of various castes are distinct in the same way they may have been before Madhubani received international and national attention.

I love this art because various bright, vibrant & eye catching colors are used to paint. Here I tried Madhubani inspired Sun god motif wall decor using pine plank and popsicle sticks.

It really turned out so well that I was requested to repeat same art thrice :)

Hope you will also love my madhubani sun wall decor!
